ABAC compresser - any good?

I've come across an ABAC 3hp compressor near me for sale, they want £100 and I was wondering if they are a decent make as I've not heard of them - but I'm no expert!

Apparantly its 10yr old and hasnt been used much, it looks in decent condition.

Anyone think its a good or bad buy? The bonus is I'm passing the seller with a van today as well

ABAC are good machines, but like any machine if its been serviced/regularly maintained it will last for years but if its been overworked and not had much tlc then it may not last long.

I have had a small diy abac that was great and recently upgraded to a 3hp 150l and its a great machine. £100 seems a good price to me but there are better compressor experts on here than me.

Hopefully the seller will get back to me soon and I'll go and get it next week, I've got a cheapo Aldi job at the moment and I'll be glad to replace it with something more powerful and quieter!

Can't go wrong,set it at 90 psi,once the tank is full,it will hardley come on.

I have one of the comps as advertised here, good little outfit I say although the pressure reg and gauges are pretty crap. Surprising thing, how small in size the motor is for being 3hp and you can run it off a 13a plug no probs.

At work we've fitted quite a few (probably getting on for 100) of these to vans and had very few problems. I'd say they are decent mid-range kit, not full blown profession stuff but not rubbish either.

As with anything try to find a dealer with a good reputation for customer service and you should be ok.

That's the compressor in the back of the car now, just waiting to get lifted out later. First jobs are to change the oil, sort out the pipe from the compressor to the tank as its a bit bent and look at doing a pressure test on the tank.

I almost ended up with 2 the seller had a pair and I was eager to do a deal - getting both would have been useful as I'm looking at making a small blasting cabinet but the wife wouldn't be impressed
