Abac head gasket failure

I have a Abac B630/270 3phase compressor, bought new approx five years ago and used quite literally a handful of times. It appears to have blown it’s head gasket - I was expecting a lot longer life out of it to be honest - anyone any ideas on why it has failed with such little use?
The mid 90’s 150l Fiac that the Abac replaced is still going strong!

were the head bolts properly tight? found mine weren't that tight when I got it new, gave them all a wee nip up. Wasn't an ABAC but another italian version of the same design. Old habits, when I get anything like that, quick spanner check on everything, usually finds something not done up properly....

My abac did the same, gasket set was expensive for what it was. That said it’s not been a minutes problem since and that was a good few years ago.

as above , always loose head bolts.....u dont need a special h/gasket .....it's easy to make ur own....
plenty of HD material on ebay and cheap as chips.....

It's always worth checking the head bolts are tight before you first start a new compressor and rechecking/tightening after a few hours running.

I ordered a full Abac gasket kit today - anyone know offhand if there are any torque figures for the head bolts?

I might even get round to fitting the Norgren filter system I’ve had for years!

The gasket set is quite comprehensive, pretty sure the torque settings were on a slip of paper in the set.

Mine did the same, though unbranded I'm pretty sure it's an Abac.
I've got the head gasket set but never got round to fitting it as the compressor's still at my Exes, as I have nowhere to put it!

These are Italian pumps all the same across brands

All up and running again. The genuine complete gasket kit was only £25 delivered from “acleng79” on eBay, if it helps anyone they have stacks of other makes / types of compressor gasket kits on eBay for £15-£20
