ABAC screw compressor problems??? HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE

I have an ABAC VT1080, which I believe goes under the name of SMART 1080.

Its a screw compressor.

I cant get it to go above 2.5bar.

I have had it apart and have found a problem with one of the parts (I think). The problem area appears to be inside the inlet body where the air is drawn in through. Inside this unit there is a small hole with a ball bearing in it and this is within a large spring loaded disc. I have been told that the disc should open at around 2 bar but its not. The shaft that it goes onto has signs of wear and it doesnt move freely.

Any advice would be helpfull and does anyone know where you can obtain spares and whether they are easy to get hold of.

Ages ago, (Jan '07) I bought an ABAC compressor from these folks.

I actually bought mine through e-bay, but I think this is where it came from.
Had a minor problem way back when I got it, but rang them up, and it was solved in a jiffy.
As far as I know they stock all manner of spare parts.

Ignore the italics bit - I got the wrong end of the stick.

That hole might be where the oil is injected back into the machine. Unless it's very fancy, it'll be an oil injected screw where the drive for the non driven rotor is by the rotors intermeshing (i.e. there are no external timing gears)

I might have misunderstood what you're saying. The large sprung loaded disk - if it's like a throttle valve, is how the compressor is 'unloaded' - they tend to do it on the suction side.
