Acme or trapezoidal threaded rod and nuts

Hi , does anyone know of a source of non precision acme or trapezoidal rod and nuts please , I can find the precision stuff at a cost but am building a Moxon style vise so don't need the high end stuff , I'm sure that the g cramp stuff is a lot less precise,

I used M16 all thread to make a twin screw moxon.
the nuts are 24mm, which means it doesn't take much to knock the corners off so they'll fit in the hole in a 1kg cast iron weight for the handle.
Epoxy+tap for a grub screw to hold it on.

it's easily strong enough to clamp some wood - cable tensioners only use m8, and they easily take enough tension to damage timber posts

I wanted some 22mm acme screw rod and nuts.........most quoted £150 per meter......
I think I used these, Halifax Svcrew and Thread........1m of rod and 2 nuts was about £35........
there is cheap stuff out there just keep trying......mine was for the 12" metal bandsaw vice, only needed 1/2M.........

If it doesn't need to be massive loads of 3d printers/routers, etc, use cheap 8-10-12mm trapezoidal - athough it's usually 2 or 4-start.

Well have spent ages searching it seems Accu works out the cheapest , Ihave these items as a basis for the vice, they are 5/8 unc , shopping around for this size studding it works out more with the nuts and washers etc than the Accu leadscrew stuff , the lead screw will need some work to fit but Iam setting up my little metal lathe to do this and have somewhere a 5/8 thread nut, unless there is a member in East Cornwall with a metal lathe up and running

Yes brass or bronze, "used to be on a hatch on a warship I once served on back in the 80s"

5/8 is 15mm near enough.
drill and tap them out to M20 and use allthread - which is about £6 a metre at my local place.

There's the rub, haven't a drill bit with a 1/2 " shank, haven't got a 16 mm tap, don't want to buy use once tooling which would probably cost as much as the accu stuff , as I am retired I don't have access to all the facilties etc I once had, plus there are budgetary restrictions swmbo etc,

Hi thanks, I wil call them tomorrow, down here in Cornwall there aren't many suppliers of this type of thing,
My plan is to build a scale model of a navy sea boat , a Montagu whaler in 1: 12 scale but as usual Ihave used it as an excuse to make more tools , here's the bench now in the man cave

Yes that's the stuff but when you factor in the price of the nuts etc it gets very expensive,

Thank you for your kind offer , I am building a Moxon style vice that requires 2 fairly small screw threads that is intended to be used on a model build , Ihave a 30 mm vice screw and nut buts it's a bit overkill for my plans ,
