hi guys.
i am on the final stages of restoration on my nova gte,the car is just a shell at present after renewing full floor pans, sill's etc,it has been etch primed,2 coats of primer filler, flatted back ready for top coat.i have bought some ICI acrylic paint in black which was mixed for me by hex holdings/exeter,i was told not to add thinners as it was can to gun.
starting on the interior of the shell 1st,gave paint a good stir with a 12" steel rule, strained, put into suction cup ready for spraying.the gun is a devilbiss which i acquired from brown bros 4 years ago,it has a 1.4mm nozzle/jet and is regulated to 45psi,starting on an old panel to test spray i noticed that the paint was quite runny.
is there any thing i can add to the paint to thicken it up some,if i take it back to the suppliers they will say i have added thinners to it,and at £70 for 2.5lts i dont want to waste it,also my workshop is heated to 20c.
any help/hints would be very grateful.
