Hi everyone, I'm Adam from the Isle of Man, came across the forum a few weeks back and it's been a mine of information and has helped inform me no end.

Currently I am sourcing funds for welding equipment at the moment and hope to sort a Tec Arc welder very soon with all accessories and protective gear but may also soon follow that with a Portamig if I find that I am proficient at welding!

Obviously the big key is having time to weld and given that I have two kids under 5 and another due in a month then time is short ! Also have the extension on the house to finish !

I work as an IT engineer so if anyone has any computer issues that they may need a hand with then I will help where I can.



BTW I tend to go by the nickname Shady most of the time.

Welcome to the Forum, hope your priorities are right and the extension is for an all singing all dancing workshop, kids are happy enough squeezed under the stairs for the first 10 years

I wish it was for a workshop...!

The old garage has been turned into another living room and we built a 9 x 3m single storey extension on the side of the house (single garage 6 x 3m and an extension to the utility room at the back).

I have storage in the pitched roof area above the garage so may move more tools up there as I have a large workbench, 2 large tool cupboards, 2 bicycles and tons of plywood and other materials scattered everywhere !!

Would have loved to have had the space to build a big extension on the side but not enough room between us and the neighbour !

We have cats without tails but not sure about eating them unless the local Chinese restaurants use them instead of chicken!
