adjustable steering arm

want to make an adjustable steering for project bike kids are building.
pretty sure i know how to do it but need to check, thinking of using 2 tubes with studding in middle.
weld r/h nut on one side, then i assume i need a left hand thread on other tube, so i can lengthen/shorten it?

you could use these if you modify them to weld into the tubes

your idea needs a right hand thread and a left hand thread so a length of threaded bar wont work

Talk to your local go-kart shop, ask to look at a steering tie rod, it sounds just like what you are after.

S/H freelander steering track rod, has a left and right handed thread, and 8mm bolts to clamp up to lock up once adjusted, should be able to pick up for buttons as there a loads in the scrappys

Just use second hand landrover bits, cut, shorten and weld to suit your bound to have the bits laying around

got rid of most but still got steering rods as thought tubing might be useful, so will have to check them out later.

The gokart ones are all hard cast nylon with an aluminium sleeve pressed on he end and tapped in the midle. We make them! they have to be breakable as a weak link if you take a smack on the wheels it means no broken thumbs!
