Advice Needed re CVompressor Hose Connectors.

Hi everyone,
I have a new compressor and new compressor hose which came with connectors. Whenever I attach an air tool to the hose I can hear air escaping from the tools connector to such an extent that the tool is useless. Other connecters were also supplied but I have the same problem with them all. Is there a specific hose connector that I should purchase? I really want to get the best out of my compressor and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

PCL are pretty much the standard in fittings.
Personally I use the euro connectors and find that quality ones don't leak, though I have known the aldi ones to be a little leaky and poorly made to the extent that they restrict air flow unless you continually apply pressure to the joint by hand.

I detest the Euro fittings personally. I have a small length of hose, around a foot in length with a Euro socket and a PCL male, to allow me to use those from the standard PCL fitting, but if it wasn't for the fact that some of the cheapo tools use non standard port sizes, they'd all be swapped over to normal PCL fittings straight off the bat.

I enjoy watching people who are used to PCL trying to disconnect the euro fittings. What do you dislike about them MattF?

I too have hoses which can swap me from PCL male to euro female, and visa versa.

are you sure its not the threaded bit leaking

Mainly the fact that any but the most expensive fittings will leak at the drop of a hat, (as you mentioned above), combined with the fact that different manufacturers seem to have a varying view on what the spec is. Especially with cheaper connectors, which you tend to find on equipment from the likes of Aldi, B&Q etc., you're likely to find that they won't fit correctly into any socket but the one they're supplied with.

With a standard PCL fitting, you know that there's no problem no matter where you buy the connectors from. They will always fit and you'll be hard pushed to ever get a leaky connection unless you treat them like crap.

All very fair points. I think mine are all parker/schraeder fittings. So seem to fit together well.
