advice needed ref a ingersoll rand

Hi, i'm going to look at an old air cooled ingersoll rand road comp tomorrow. The guy is selling it for his dad who was going to use it for a bit of blasting, but it never happened. I don't know the model as the son knows little about the comp.
Is there anything i should be looking out for with these older comps when i view it, any known faults etc?

the best thing to do when buying is is it a good starter from cold . run the compressor with outlet tap closed it should run on tickover . slowly open air outlet and motor should run up to full speed with the governor when fully open . run the pump full speed with outlet open for at least ten minutes the air will be warm . make sure theres not any oil coming through as a mist . stop the comp and restart from hot . . if alls well theres no problems i bought one for 150 quid looks tatty but engine and pump are mint

Well here it is, i towed it back to the yard without any disasters. It looks rough but it sounds pretty good. The blurb i have read says it produces 127cfm
I will get a good hoke around it tomorrow.

lol i have dragged worse home...So i'm wanting to conect it to my cheapo pot blaster without killing myself.
So where do i check the blowoff valve thingy, and what are the do's and dont's etc etc??

check the oil ect and just get it cranked up with outlet valves closed it will only run on tickover and hold 90 psi pressure in the small air tank . then open the outlet and it should run at full speed shut the outlet and it should go back on to tickover if i use my comp on small pot with 3mm jet it dont even go off tickover to run it if i use a 6mm jet on larger pot it runs 3 quarter speed .mines a 90cfm pump

a 3/4 hose with c couplings for the pot with a 6mm jet and a half inch bore with adaptor for the small pot .heres picture of comp and pot

So this is what i went with, 20bar working pressure 3/4 hose from comp to pot, and the same 3/4 hose from pot to nozzle, and done away with the mixer on the bottom of the pot and fitted a 'T' piece.
Fired it up and according to the gauge on the blast pot it levels out around 120psi with my nozzle closed, and nozzle open blasts about 105/110psi, with a 6mm tip.
The gauge on the comp shows 130 with my nozzle closed.
Well happy with 110psi, should do my job nicely

Just an update for anyone interested in doing similar. This combination is working well, but it empties the 10 gallon pot very quickly. I gave jblast super a go, worked alright but didn't flow as well from the pot. jblast superfine flowed much better, and seems better for what I'm doing.
As for the speed if work, previously i had two 14cfm comps running a 3mm tip at around 90psi which worked well, but it don't compare to the road comp with a 6mm tip. It takes about 2 or 3 seconds to pressure the pot, and it runs around 110psi.
It took about 45mins to do this bulkhead, and a good part of that was taken up refilling the pot.

When i blasted my grenite fire place 7ft high x 7ft wide x 2ft deep front and sides and the opening both sides and back 4ft x 4ft. It took 30 minutes the longest bit was the 18mm thick x 90mm wide metal strip for a lintel.
