Hi

I will be buying a new mig welder in next few mounths but thers a few questions I want to be cleared up before buying a machine.

Needs to be single phase
Biggish amp settings ( for welding race car chassis )

Before I get a welder iam getting my electrician to check out the wiring in the Sheed. I am going to get him two run a good thick supply to the sheed with two 16 amp blue plugs fitted in as well.

I have been told to get a 235amp at 60% duty cycle for a good overall round good welder to be able to weld all my thickness need.

But then other people tell me that's far to high on a single phase line and to get around 190 amps.

So could someone be able to tell me what is a very good amp level machine and what sorta duty cycle percentage to be getting and give me a website on were to buy such machine of the Internet.

I and anything up to £950 price range.

Something that is going to last me for a brave few years.

i dont know about what welder u require but u are only limited by the size of the mains cutout fuse supply to the house . most are 60amp up to 100 amp . that would be input supply not output on welder and would need a dedecated supply

just requires a 32 amp supply on its own from consumer unit

Right so as long as the amp fuse rating on the welder is the same to the supply from the circuit board.

That should be ok

If you have a spare 32 amp fuse or perhaps a cooker supply your your using then this will work out fine for you 9Disconnect the cooker wire and use your shed wire in its place, remember you need the right size wire too for the job and thats pretty expensive too
