Off topic a bit so sorry, but....
Got an old citroen saxo, just got it through an MOT with more welding for corrosion than my wallet would have liked. Looking at stripping the old underseal off, giving it a rub down and a lick of paint and then some underseal.
Here's what I am thinking of doing, can I grab some advice please as I am competely new to all of this. Also trying to do it on a budget, the whole aim is to get it through just 1 or two more mot's so doesnt have to last for decades! Plus I am poor now :P
Was planning on doing the following:
1) remove underseal/rust (might not be able to get all the way back to clean metal, but just until it stops flaking)
2) Paint with zinc 182
3) Paint with red oxide (namely as I can see if I have missed a patch as its a completely dif colour to the zinc)
4) Hammerite in white (got an old tin lying around so was just going to use this, again dif colour so easy to see if I have missed a patch)
5) Probably Hammerite underseal over the top as I have half a tin.
So really, just want advice to make sure I can add the red oxide over the zinc 182, it's really only as its a diffrent colour so I can see what I've painted. Tried to paint the white hammerite onto the 182 on a bench and struggled. I'd image it would be worse underneath a car!
