I've got a status 355 I think it is , surplus to requirements as it happens 
. Omnidirectional kinda looks like a flying saucer from memory 
. I think you can use a pole or just fix it too the roof
I just go camping theses days so leave the tv at home. I'll dig it out later if your interested ?

Omni directionals though don't have the natural gain of a traditional style Yagi array antenna. All this "digital aerial" jargon you heared years ago from people trying to flog you a new one was rubbish. I'm a little out of touch nowadays but my best advice would be buy the biggest standard style antenna you can carry.
When you visit an area keep a look out at other aerials to see which way they are mounted as this makes a difference. If the signal is in a valley for instance it could be coming from a repeater station so may be vertically polarised.
Some of the above maybe complete tosh now since the introduction of digital tv but as far as I was aware the digital data was originally piggybacked on the old analogue carrier signal so same rules should apply.
P.S. better still, get a satellite dish and Freesat box as you can always get a good signal.

It was recommended to me by a friend for my boat. I thought it's cheap enough to risk as I was using a miniature roof aerial with lots of spikes sticking out and a pain to pack up without scratching the wood work in the boat. I was really surprised at how well it worked, I just put it out of a window and tuned it the TV.
I guess it depends on your signal and location though.
It's so small and doesn't need batteries. I have tried a few different aerials with and without batteries and this is the best by far.

The aerial is built in to my caravan.....its one of the flying saucer types mentioned. It works really well. Most sites have wifi these days and some folk just use that to watch Iplayer or ITVhub. Unless theres football on I dont bother much....maybe the news and weather but I can get them on my phone....but her indoors needs the fix of corrie and emmerdale. Theres loads of digital aerials on amazon.

)It comes with suckers for a temporary bung it on the roof install , but you can screw it on permantly or fit it too a pole witgthe base removed
. All it needs is a 12 volt power source from the caravan and a fly lead to your tv from the amplifier/power supplybox that you can see. Does £30 inc Royal Mail second class parcel post sound ok .?That's quite alrightit frees up more space and I'll stick it on e bay
