Air compressor servicing

I decided to change the oils in my compressors. I have a few and started with a 26Litre one. The oil glass was unreadable so drained the oil. 300ml in it and it was the colour of diff oil. The replacement oil was clean oil colour and when I filled it up I could actually see the level mark using the red dot! No water in the tank and job was a good un. I have a similar one but different make. I found that this does not have any oil by design! Its a nice little 26 litre size. Ideal for car tyres and other uses I have stripped it down off the tank as the two plastic cases that houses the unit need repairs. I have two larger ones to do later on. Has anybody seen this non oil types before?

Isn't it just a diaphragm pump?

I looked at one for someone a few years ago. That one had an aluminium piston in a aluminium liner with a plastic piston ring. The ring had disintegrated and the liner wasn’t round, it may have had to much continuous use.

Looks like an oilless Wobl piston type, the 'piston' is part of the connecting rod casting and more of a compression plate to hold the piston ring in shape which is a cupped washer.
