What is it with the UK and air compressors? We live on a small pokey Island. Land is at a premium and we all work out of tiny sheds and garages which were designed to shelter an Austin Seven.
Retailers in their wisdom decide to try to sell us 300 different types of horizontal mounted compressors. You know what I mean, them compressors shaped like a beer can laid on its side.
I have been watching a few Youtube videos tonight from our American cousins. What strikes me is that despite having more land area than they know what to do with, everyone gets a triple garage at birth over there, they still have enough sense to purchase upright air compressors with a much smaller footprint per volume basis. Why don't we do the same?
80% of the floor space in my garage is covered. I hardly have room to swing a cat in there. I do well not to trip over something and kill myself every time I venture in there, however it is probably only a quarter full as all the wasted space is above the floor. Are we Brits really that stupid? Why aren't we demanding and buying upright compressors. They seem to be very thin on the ground and overpriced over here. Is it some horrid joke played on us by the Chinese? I think we should be told.
