Hey all I'm new to this site as I'm after a bit of info on air fed masks. I've just started doing some 2k spraying and want to invest in an air fed mask. My current compressor is a Clarke 200l 4hp and pushes out 18 cfm. Will this be enough for running an air fed mask and spray gun ?

18 must be your displacement, 14 is common for 3hp comps. Figures usually quote 3hps as about 9cfm delivered, so using 3 cfm per hp, yours probably puts out 12cfm ish at the same pressure.
Mask reqs is about 6cfm-ish but it's continuous demand. You might well have enough air to power the mask and a conventional gun (they have lower air wants, typically 7ish cfm), HVLP ones can take a lot of air, like 10 - 15cfm say.

@dai751989..an idea that may work to some degree is a valve that cuts off above say..60 psi, because I was thinking pump losses increase when the pressure rises, and thus such an adjustment improves the actual airflow. Thank you all for sharing this info about air fed masks.
