Air filter/trap, found some material inside ?

Hi,

Yesterday i found some of this inside the filter/water trap, what/where could it have come from ?

This was before i connected it to my new compressor BTW. I have never seen it before now, using my old compressor a lot.

Check the trap filter element. Some of the foam type can break down to a powder.

I checked it over and seems to be the same as it was when new, ill check again later on. I assume these have a years guarantee and would this be enough to use that, or is it something not to worry about ?

It looks like desiccant, like the silica gel stuff you get in little sachets when you buy new things.

These filters were bought about 6 months ago, not checked them over again yet but will report back later on, cheers.

I found at the end of the MM air pipe joining the metal connection has broken down, as in gone all flexi unlike the rest of the pipe being stiff.

Looks like ill be taking the air pipe back for a refund or buy another item as MM pipes are pretty weak.

The filters look fine, just a bit off colour.
