air hose for breathing

I plan to move my compressor to my shed when I do a bit of painting and want to bring the air to my garage with an existing hose, my water/oil filters and regulators are in the garage.

I have a Sperian air fed mask/charcoal filter and had planned to buy a breathing quality hose for the garage.

I then realised that I was planning to use a standard air hose to get the air to the garage.

How big a deal is it using a standard hose for breathing air?

I wouldn't risk it food grade hose is not expensive and before filtration I only use either copper or john guest nylon air pipe

standard will be ok up to your filter .u still get dirty air from comp through them no matter what grade u use .air breathing filters are plugged in to portable blasting pots on the end of there lines

I'm told those little carbon things on the belt are not all you need (im told far from it)

Anyhow, if this is the case, why not just use pex etc to the filter where you are working and then a short length of nylon to the belt filter?

i have a water seperator filter next to the carbon filter feeding my blasting helmet so any water - oil -particle contamination is removed before being filtered

Thanks, I have a water particle filter, then an oil filter and then a carbon filter on my belt all in the garage so will go with that.

Good idea but the problem is my wife wont put up with a permanent pipe from the shed to the garage as the shed is in the back garden and the garage is in the front and I don't want to have to dig a trench.

I will only do an odd bit of painting and will normally have the compressors in the garage.

Can you say where is a good place to buy food grade hose?
