With compressed air the bigger the hose the better. If it's too small you get a pressure too big of a pressure drop at the tool witch gives you lower performance. Also the same can be said about very long air lines, the longer the hose the bigger the bore needs to be to get the same performance at the tool.

PCL do some very good ones, not cheep but you only get what you pay for. The cheep rubber ones then to perish very quickly.

'Only' using it for an impact gun - they're quite demanding on air, hence a minimum of 10mm. Longer hoses would require larger.
Sorry, I can't help on which stuff is decent, I've been bitten with the cheap hose before. I seem to keep chopping the bad sections out on a weekly basis!

if your buying a hose with fittings pre fitted make sure the input fitting to hose is not a (1/4") 6mm as that is very common and makes the (3/8") 10mm bore hose pointless. At home I'm using 15m (1/2") 13mm bore hose with 1/2" hose fitting up to the impact gun when it steps down to a 1/4" PCL fitting http://www.screwfix.com/p/pcl-stand... Thanks for the input guys, would this be the sort of thing I should be after 13mm bore with 1/2 connections.

looks half decent I use rubber hoses that are used for steam and last donkeys years big ££££ though . I scrounged all mine though

The longer the hose the higher the resistance to air flow which means that you use a larger diameter for long runs.

im all ears hi...Best air hose I have ever had is a Flexzilla, absolutely non kink
the hose im using at the moment is annoying me a lot lately, its a bit harder than soft which makes it want to stay in the coil shape and its reluctant to lie flat on the floor either so i think its time for a change.
i never even heard of the flexzilla hose, i looked at it there and i must say im well impressed so far, is it as good as it looks ?
which have you the experience of, the air hose or the pro air hose?
and is the only difference that you can splice the pro or is it different pipe as well.
