Hello.
I have a new compressor, a cheapo 'Challenge Extreme' (***cough***) air tool set for its basic facilities, a half-decent SIP Sapphire spray gun and, finally, a cheapo Chinese 'touch-up' gun.
I need to join them together...
Since most of the parts (ie: the Challenge Ext. kit which includes the air hose) use 'Hi Flow Uni' connectors, that's the way I'd like to go for everything - easy enough so far.
The SIP has a 1/4" BSP female thread and the compressor a similar male, so getting 1/4" BSP 'H-F-U' fittings to fit these is no problem either. Still all good...
The Chinese touch-up gun has a different thread, however. It has a noticeably finer thread pitch to the 1/4" BSP fittings, and is also a smaller diameter - measured male thread tip-to-tip is nigh on 10mm diameter. Any idea what thread type this could be?
Strangely, if I remove one of the H-F-U male connectors from a Challenge-Ext tool, I find that the threaded part of the fitting has the SAME pitch as the Chinese gun, but is slightly larger diameter at ~11mm. I guess the 'Challenge' kit will also be of Chinese manufacture so has a similar thread pitch to the touch-up gun tho' the slightly larger diameter - by 1mm.
(For reference, the 1/4" BSP make thread is coarser and around 12mm diameter.)
Any ideas what thread size I have on my Chinese gun? To recap, it has a finer thread pitch than 1/4" BSP and is around 10mm diameter.
(And, any idea where I can either get a H-F-U connector with this thread, or else a 1/4"BSP to 'Chinese' adaptor?!
Thanks!
