Air Nibbler

Seen this Sealey air nibbler for about half usual price.

The Sealey ones i presume are better than this Clarke one?

Any one have experience of these two? I am thinking that if i am going to pay about 50 quid for one i might as well get the Sealey. The seller seems cool with good feedback but i am cautious because of the seemingly low price. I know its only 50 quid but im not made of money!!

I have the sealey one, and broke the die, replacements are expensive £15-20 for one, so bought the silverline model from ebay, good price good tool will cut 1mm plate ok and the spares are cheap pack of 5 dies £5, and the pins are 5 for £5, use it all the time, Ant!

I have a mega cheap unbranded one, well, mightbe something like amtech.
The punch and die was exactly the same as the ones for the Clarke, it was a clarke spare i got to replace it.

I believe the silverline ones are idnetical aswell, i wonder if the sealey ones are also identical.

I have a Clarke - and absolutely love it - flys through 1mm sheet.

I have a Rodac die grinder. The Rodac tools are good value for money. Not too expensive, but good enough for professional use. They are often seen in the auto repair branch here in NL.

I bought a RODAC 3/8" drill the other day, my mate bought the Impact gun, very nice and quiet with it.


Back on subject I've had a CP nibbler for about 20yrs, I used it for cutting 1mm 304 Stainless for a long time that did the hammer and anvil no good at all. it still cuts very well but does get stuck.

I don't use it much these days, not since I walked all over the new kitchen lino flooring after work, leaving it peppered with the tiny hook-like crescents that get lodged in your boots. I was not a popular person in my house I can tell you

them lil crescents are nasty im banned from the house after using the nibbler since my wife stood on them, Ant!

I have a drill mounted nibbler made by Turner. It cuts 16g sheet steel and if you oil the cut line the dies last for ages. The toe nail clippings are a nuisance and the cut line is wide but for cutting out intricate shapes it is invaluable, anything involving straight lines forget it and use the angle grinder with a slitting disk.
