I am in the process of purchasing a da air sander for smaller repairs, been looking for a 75mm one, don't want to pay over the odds but don't want cheap rubbish either, anyone had any experience of a reasonably priced sander that would be suitable, also is there much difference in use of a palm sander over one with a handle and trigger.

try powertoolsales.com, they do Chicago pneumatic as well as some expensive stuff, I've got a few cp air tools and all seem good quality, just got a pistol type sander and half inch air ratchet from them but not used them yet. no link with this outfit other than a happy shopper

If your talking about sanding filler on small areas I'd go palm sander, better for getting a nice even pressure. Dynabrade are amazing, watch eBay for bargains.
Have decided to try a sealey one, got gsa08 150mm palm sander stated 5cfm bought some discs as well so will test out today, looks well built but only time will tell. Palm sanders are more expensive than the normal type but do look like they are easier to use and fit in smaller spaces,
