Air sander as a DA polisher

Has anyone tried it and was it successful? Was thing about buying these to try out on my sander but don't want to waste money if there is no point.

I think you'll find the sander runs too fast and you'll generate too much heat and damage the paint.

Also, you'll still be stuck with rotary action rather than Dual Action,

One of our guys tried it years ago on cellulose, it sort of worked until he went across the raised edge of the central bonnet panel of a Lotus Cortina I had spent weeks on getting perfect...right through to primer in a flash...as ^^^^^ simply too fast and difficult to control.
