Air Tank End Caps

Hi;

Where can I get a replacement End Cap for my Compressor Tank, its an old Snap-on PH12 thread here
One of the End Caps looks like it had another cap in the centre poss for running a line? Looks like its been welded of brazed closed though, this is the cap I would like to replace with a 1/2 BSP insert in it so that I can run a line direct from the tank into my DIY Air Cooler / Water Trap as shown on this Forum.

Can't get them out at the mo though:-)

Should I try a Plumbing Supplier?

If I can't get a replacement I'll have to run the line from the Compressors on board regulator?

heat the old one up with a blowtorch and it will help loosen it . the bsp reducers u can get them of ebay or most heating wholesalers

Try heating the plug, it may be held in with a thread sealant.

Any hydraulic supply company will have BSP fittings on the shelf, plumbers merchants will also have a good stock of bits that are ok for air system pressures.

The other approach is to keep the existing cap but make a hole in it and weld in the desired 1/2 BSP thread yourself.

Be a bit carful welding to hydraulic fittings, some of them are leaded steel and can fail under pressure.
