Airline/fittings etc. ?

My Wolf Dakota arrived yesterday, at the moment I have no airline/fittings etc. Obviously these are pieces which I need to buy, but I'd prefer to avoid items which aren't really up to the job (heard bad reports about some eBay items)

I'll steer clear of the like of Silverline, but with regards to manufacturers of quality products can anyone a decent/reliable one?

If you are just starting out then get PCL XF, they are availble from Screwfix(who happen to be one of the cheapest). Genuine PCL connectors are way better than the cheap ones

Do the xf ones have better air flow?

Yes, standard PCL is 4.8mm bore, XF is 7.4mm. In fairness I used standard up until a few weeks back when I spent £200+ swapping all mine to XF. There is a real difference in air hungry tools.

I've got 10mm clarke air hoses from clarke, they were cheap enough with a machinemart discount voucher. but being rubber they are likely to go harder in cold weather. there was this post recently

I think when I checked the price the flexillent hoses were about 4 times the price

So, being a newbie I'm here again with another question which probably has a very obvious answer (just not obvious to me )

With regards to the make of the couplings, I suggest PCL and nothing else.
They're a lot of money and sometimes you may find cheap alternatives which last well but they're the exception, not the norm. You typically get what you pay for, leaky fittings aren't very good.

i just brought 6 from ebay because i could not find pcl QR that have a barb on them they were crap leaked air with no tool in the end of them I went out and brought some PCL ones and some separate barbed hose connectors more expensive but way better quality

I ended up getting pcl xf fittings from pneumatics direct, they do them with barbed hose connectors

Thanks for that link. I've been looking for xf couplings and they seem reasonably priced.
