Airmark Turbo 150 ltr

Hi guys. Just need some help. Ive purchased an Airmark Turbo 150 Ltr compressor for general car restoration (my own vehicles). Ill be using a media blaster and spray gun mainly. Bought the compressor as 240 volt (assumed single phase) but its 3 phase. I have 3 phase in my unit but struggling gettin a wiring diagram. The wires from the on/off switch are brown, blue, black and yellow/green. Looking at my fuse box which hss lives as Red, Blue and yellow. Black is neutral.

Im just worried which would be neutral on the compressor Blue or black.
The others I assume are Brown L1
Yellow/green Earth ?

Could anyone please advise of supply an Airmark Turbo Schematic.

Just confused at my yellow is actually yellow with a green tracer (normally earth)

reading above Brown Live 1, Yellow/green Live 2, Blue Live 3 and Black an neutral. Is that correct

no yellow green is the earth. best seek advice if your not sure

Ah right thank you as I thought regarding earth. Is below correct then

Brown Live 1
Blue Live 2
Black Neutral
Green Yellow earth

Thease are the 4 wires in the loom to the switch

Is there any significance in L1, L2 and L3 knowing all are 230/240 v
across L1 and L2 440v
across L1 and L3 440v

Is it just good practice as far as wiring colours and regulations ?

Welcome to the forum.

It might have been messed with, normal workshop 3 phase voltage is 415v, your motor may be wired as delta and it will need configuring as star. It would normally run on three phases (lives) and no neutral.

Can you get pictures of the inside of the plate on the motor, the switch and inside where the cable goes into the motor.

As Brightspark says it may be a case of having an electrician look at it.

Got electrician coming anyway just wanted to get some advice first. Everything looks original on the compressor. Probably me got the figures wrong just took them off a website that I used to check test readings.

My fuses in the consumer unit are 230/240 each bank
Then will be 415 across L1 and 2, L1 and 3.

Just that I only have 4 wires. Brown, Blue, Yellow/Green and Black
I know my neutral in the consumer unit is black.
The lives in my consumer unit are Red, Yellow and Blue.

Its just that brightspark says

That would then be Brown L1, Black L2, Blue L3 and earth.

it confuses a lot of electricians especially if they haven't worked on it for a few years and the old colours. they cant get it out of there heads black is now the second phase and not the neutral

yippee think ive got it......why does someone sit in an office altering thing to confuse everybody and justify their jobs
