I dug out an old Airmaster Compressor the other day. It's about 15 years old and came from MM. The aluminium alloy pipe from the compressor to the receiver tank is badly corroded with a hole in it (had fertiliser granules of all things spilled on it). I've tried epoxy with no success. Spoke to MM but they can't identify the model from the ID plates on it, so no replacement pipe available. The compressor end has a compression fitting and the tank end has a flared fitting. Is there any reason why I shouldn't replace it with suitable diameter copper tube and compression fittings from a plumbing supplier?

as said above,copper tube will be fine...dont forget to use ptfe tape on the fittings.
Job done! I couldn't find anywhere that would sell me a short piece of 10mm microbore - 10 metre rolls were a bit overkill not to mention the cost, so I got a 15mm bendable tap fitting section with plain ends and 2 15mm-10mm compression connectors, cut out the damaged section of the old pipe and connected it all up. Squeezy bottle test on all connections, no leaks anywhere. Working a treat. Looks a bit Heath Robinson now but I'm not bothered about that.

Just be careful that the bendable pipe does not vibrate at all, that bendable copper is pretty thin and could be quite prone to cracking if it's allowed to work harden,
