Airmaster Compressor Losing Oil

Hi everyone I bought an Airmaster compressor {spares or repair} It starts and runs well but after a short time air pressure seems to be getting into the sump and pushing out the oil Can anyone please help.

Well it was spares or repairs! Sounds like worn rings and bores letting the air leak past. Strip it down and have a look.

i would imagine its the rings. hence why it was sold as spares or repair

but saying that, if you like tinkering like most men do
you have nothing to lose as its not working correctly.
then as rig pig said. strip it down, may only take a set of rings and a few hours of your time to sort it.

Found too much oil in sump.Drained and renewed oil to correct level, which is a round plastic window about 50mm above drain plug.Fitted new pressure gauge.Hey Presto we have lift off. Worth about £250 now

That's good. Those sight glasses can be confusing, my Clarke says fill up to near the top of the sight glass, my Sip says fill up to the red dot.
