Anyone know anything about these Diesel heaters, i have a used one I want to sell but need to bench test it first, I don't have the control unit or fuel pump.
Probably not worth paying for the extras you need to get it working. You do need a fuel pump, you can buy aftermarket ones but given that the Chinese are selling reasonable units that include everything including fuel tanks, exhausts, piping and controllers for around £100 delivered far fewer folk are chasing after old incomplete Eberspacher units but it could be worth something to someone looking for one for spares.
The pump isn’t a pump as you think of it. It’s a pulsed injector, controlled by the ECU
Nothing will work without the ECU because there’s a few sensors and logic gates it has to satisfy to run for safety reasons.
It’s easy to lock them out buggering about with them but you need an ECU for that.
You could probably test the various bits with a supply to see if the motor spins up or the glow pin Works but that’s about your lot.
Which one is it?
I work on a decent number in boats and trucks. As @Trevorleach id break it for bits. If it’s a common one like the D2 you’ll get a few quid for the parts.
The other option is find a local eber dealer and ask them nicely to put it on the test rig.
