Hi everyone,
I have a VW Campervan that needs serious bodywork / welding, replacement panels etc etc and although i did some welding when i was an apprentice mechanical engineer that was 20 years ago so im really a noobie. I dont have any equipment yet but hope to buy some soon. As for interests i am an I.T. guy who loves collecting vinyl records & riding vespas. Recently i have started a podcasting business http://astralvoices.com if anyones interested. I hope to keep an on-line diary of my campervan restoration but before all that i need to read all the advice in this site. I do have the haynes welding manual as a pdf if anyone is interested.

Hi Alan,
I see you're in Edinburgh,not that far from me im down near peebles but im at Telford college in granton 4 days a week, im on the lookout for a camper myself to restore etc.

Hi Simon, good to hear from another reekie inhabitant, i see your a brummie originally. I once went to see The Who at the nec but havent been back but i had a few brummie pals when i lived in Paris. This site is just what im looking for, what do you use your welder for, i see your building a boat-is it a metal boat

I make/repair things for a living, so the welding kit is fairly busy.
