Aldi spot blaster kit

Hi guys and girls.

Has anybody bought a spot blaster kit from Aldi recently? I just wondered if the canvas collector bag should be stitched all the way up the side or is there meant to be an gap of about 1.5 inches near the top? We have checked another bag on a display one in the shop and it is the same. The alu shot/dust flies out of the gap when in use. Would the bag burst if it was completely sealed or is it breathable? Poor piece of kit from what i have seen so far. Any advice before i get back to them in the week would be helpful. Thanks

Not Aldi item but I'd got a similar spot sandblaster and bag is sealed all the way round.

ive got one ..its stiched up apart from where it fits on

The bag is effectively just a big filter to catch the powder and let the air through. It's not under vast pressure as it's just using the 'reflected' air to direct the powder back into the bag. You could always just put a bit of gaffer tape round the top to seal the gap.
