Looking to buy a denso scv for mitsi as a spare , but genuine are micky mouse monies , anyone bought similar from alibaba , any good ? the reason I ask is it seems most on ebay originate from there...

I've used AliExpress for various things over the years and never had any issues. As you said yourself, it's essentially the same stuff as eBay but for less money.

I think AliBaba is the B2B version of AliExpress. AliExpress is D2C (direct to consumer). If you're just buying a single item for yourself, I think AliExpress is the site to use.

I used Alibaba for the CNC plasma machine.

As far as I'm aware, Aliexpress works a bit like a wild-west version of eBay. Plenty of dodgy sellers, but if you pick and choose and careful you can find some good ones with some level of protection from Ali-express.
Alibaba is basically a platform to put businesses into contact with manufacturers - you then conduct your business directly with no protection.

Depends on what you agree to.
Alibaba do provide an escrow service, so they do provide some level of protection.
They can also provide goods inspection services, and various other services if you require and will pay for them.
