I'm currently restoring a vauxhall senator B 91 model and looking to replace the inner sill on the passenger side as well as the front door pillar on N/S; i've got all the genuine replacement parts. I'm starting to wonder if when I remove this inner sill that I may end up loosing alignment, there is actually no chassis leg between the front and back I think all the strength comes from the sills. What would be the best way to check/retain alignment of the chassis while doing this work?
I've seen the guide on here for the aston martin sill replacement so that's given me some ideas as a starter, i.e. a bar between the front and middle post. I'm also thinking as the car is sitting on stands on a slightly uneven driveway that it might end up twisting. I've loaded the back chassis onto a 700mm axle stand as I was working on the inner sill floor section at the back and couldn't put a stand there. The chassis leg up where the spring is is higher up so needed the taller stand, got a normal size stand at the front on the front outrigger/chassis leg section.
