how true is the rim from that damage i would want to check that first

I wouldn't ever straighten an alloy wheel, while they bend easily they develop fractures when straightened.

Aluminum is very finicky when stressed and cracked. Better piece of mind having something machined from a full billet than repaired.
Not many wheels are machined from billet, they are pressure cast in high volume. I've seen the edges of rims knocked back into shape with a soft hammer but that looks like the chunk will break out and the rim will be scrap.

Thanks for your replies. So as far as I understand It`s not worth repairing that. But it will be a shame throwing them away because of a bend on one of them. I still want to give it a go, on account of the fact that I have never done that before but bad experience is also experience

given the cracking I would have thought that vee ing & filling the crack, then build up rim & remachine would be the only way I would even think of approaching it....
well actually I would scrap it or take it to someone who knows what they are doing, failure could be very nasty. the whole area needs checking for cracks & I woould not trust it without a proper inspection... ultrasound/xray?

There is a shop that buys scrap bent wheels by me. Their driver came to my shop with a wheel with a crack on the back edge and he said they buy 4,000 wheels a month and he never found a match. So i cut out the crack and welded it up but i used a mig and spoolgun. My daughter hit a large hole and bent her wheel similar to yours. I just layed it on my bench and beat it back with a good sized hammer and it didn't crack...Bob
This is one of those times when if you have to ask you should leave well alone. Something safety critical like a car wheel is not the place to give it a go for 'experience' unless you're gonna throw it away afterwoods anyway
Physically repairing something like this is easy enough but there's soooo much more to consider that can't be known and can't be checked/proven economically unless the wheel is rare enough to be effectively irreplacable i.e. proper NDT
Wheels are cast, spun/flow formed and forged. Spinning, flow forming and forging are forming processes that 'add strength' through strain hardening and grain refinement. Welding is in effect casting and welding something that has been forged etc will 'undo' this grain structure that was used to design weight out of the part
Ally wheels are often/usually heat treated during manufacture. Again welding will destroy this heat treatment local to the repair. Hot working can also destroy heat treatment if the temp high enough as the aluminium alloys used will begin to anneal at around 350C.
In other words if the welding is perfect (no such thing) it'll still be softer and weaker after repair. If it was a lightweight forged wheel could be around half the strength it was before firing up the welder. If it was cast the story is less bleak but 1) castings aren't known for their tolerance of being bashed about and 2) there's still welding flaws and other things to consider.
Everything is 'over built' i.e. designed with a safety margin. There's no way to know how big (conservative) the designers went but commen sense says that lighter, high perfomance wheels will be 'overbuilt' less than heavy, (usually) cheaper wheels
Very little to go on but google suggests that this wheel may, pehaps, could be a Korean copy of an SSR type C
