Hi and welcome to the site, have a look at the tutorials, get some scrap and get welding...then post some pics here and you will get loads of advice, don't forget we all like to see pics of projects, homemade tools, jigs etc etc, even the old timers can learn some handy tips.
Hi fella, welcome to the forum.
What machine did you buy?
Scrub that, just spotted it in your profile. Not the best rated machines on here unfortunately. What will you be using it for? (Please don't say car repairs )
Minimum current is way too high for thin car stuff, at 50A you'll blow holes in it.
Welders suitable for car repairs need to go down to about 30A or ideally even less.
Shame you didn't find us before you bought it, we'd have talked you out of it.
Have been struggling a bit, been using the technique a watched on here, on off on off like spot welding. Had it longer than a month so a can't take it back to screwfix !
It might be a case of setting it afloat in the Bay of E and getting something more suitable. Not what you want to hear I know but I reckon you'll really struggle with that machine.
