I want to modify a dual mass flywheel to fit a different engine. The existing PCD needs to be made larger by 3mm. Do I plug the existing 8 holes with a press fit plug and redrill, or just slot the existing holes ? Plugging and redrilling will leave a very thin sliver one side of the hole, which will obviously fall out, so rather pointless.
If I slot them, whats the best way to do it ? Material is 40mm thick. The mounting bolts are M12 on both engines. Existing holes are 12.5mm dia.
I have a milling machine, and a rotary table but the spindle is fixed, so I would have to wind the knee up.
I also have a Meddings pillar drill. Could I use an end mill in the pillar drill and use the rotary table on it ?
