Hi there,
I've just bought a motorbike with one engine mount that's come astray on one of its apparently multiple trips down the road!
So basically I'm after a bit of advice, I have an Arc, an Arc inverter (lovely to work with compared to normal Arc), and a Clarke 151T MIG running mild steel (0.6), nylon liner with fire extinguisher CO2.
I've done a fair bit of welding with each machine and am pretty confident and so would like to have a go at fixing this myself.
I'm not sure I can justify buying too much to set up the MIG (unless someone can point me towards a source of reasonably cheap Argon? I dont mind buying the wire but renting a bottle for such few and far between jobs isn't practical) so was considering trying some of the stick rods as I had a quick search here and people seem to suggest they're more suitable on heavier stuff - like cast engine blocks.
Anyone recommend a brand? and which machine would be best to use? normal arc or inverter. the inverter is certainly better for steel
any advice/suggestions appreciated!
cheers!
