Am i being tracked?

Bought a cheap pair of trainers last year for a fishing trip. Came from matalan or home bargains or one of those type stores.

Only wore them for a few days (in bad conditions to be fair) and the sole of one was starting to fall off.

Going away again tomorrow and decided to glue the sole back on...

Found this...
Looks like it was fitted in the factory as it was well pressed into the tread profile
Some sort of microchip with antenna?
I have a microchip reader (for animals) that detects the presence of it but won't read any data from it.

Some sort of anti shoplifting thing?
Something for tracking production in the factory?
Or does someone have some sort of interest in following men with size 10 feet and no fashion sense?

I believe that’s just an RFID sticker. Used in production and logistics for reading things like batch number, origin and the likes. It’s used as part of an automated system.

I've had them at least 6 months.. not been raided yet..
Although there have been a lot of helicopters around recently..

Your probably being tracked. I'd suggest that you get your tinfoil hat on and go and hide in the shed for a few months living on condensation from the wiggly tin roof and the dregs of coolant from your mill.

It is envisaged that in the near future that all goods will have a none removeable RFI label and be used for automatic billing as you walk around the store , whether you take it to the till or put it back on a shelf.

Wife used to work in Sainsbury's years ago. They used to stick RF tags to trolleys or lay them sticky side up on the floor for amusement.
