Well I've been at it again, another of those 'I'd like to have a go at ...' moments.
Love fossil hunting on beaches, most recently on IOW. Brought home a nice recycled glass sculpture of an ammonite.
The other day I thought I'd like to try and make a metal one of some description.
Starting spiral with nails tacked on to keep shape.
Filled out with a few curved pieces. I'd love to have a go at one completely filled in with rod like this, but that requires more rod than I have and something other than just hands and a vice to bend it with.
Looks quite abstract from some angles.
It's final resting place, welded to a rebar hoop stuck in the ground.
As I say given more time and money I'd love to do a completely filled in one with just rod, but that will have to wait. This scratches the itch for the moment.
