An alternative spool gun to the manufacturers ?

I have a Telwin 223 treo and would like a spool gun for it. Telwin want £300 or more for theirs and I am wondering if any other unit will work with it. Here's a pic of the socket. Any help greatfully appreciated.

In the spare parts manual there is a basic wiring diagram that does have the pin out for the remote socket

You can get a cheap spool gun for under £100 on ebay etc. but they are cheap and I'm not sure I'd want to spend the time setting one up only to drop it a week later and watch the cheap plastic shatter into pieces.
You'll also need to buy/source the correct connector and it would be worth checking the price of that as well first..

I would compare the pictures of the telwin one to make sure it's not just a cheap one rebranded but £300 actually sounds reasonable enough for a plug & play solution

The cheap ones don't have 8 pins in use. They generally use 2 or 4.

According to wiring diagram @carbon linked the spool gun is CAN controlled, so adapting a cheap generic one would be difficult.

Ah. Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to either stump up or do without then. At least that info puts the idea of a non Telwin one to bed.
