anaerobic sealant for engine gaskets etc

does the anaerobic sealers come under any other name at all , ive looked around town as i need some sharpish and no ones heard of it , any ideas as id sooner use that than blue silicone stuff

I use this. Seals exceedingly well and absolutely no squeeze-out. especially good for sealing case halves, if you don't mind doing a bit of basic masking.

3 bond is the best I have ever used. Normal silicone sealants tend to block oil ways, and are best avoided if at all possible.

i know these sealants work with metal to metal contact , are they also okay to use with metal-gasket-metal as a added measure ?

Why not just get some 3 Bond if you are having issues with sealing gasket surfaces?

I don't beleive so - that is the idea - certainly where Saab recommend them there is no gasket e.g. sump onto block. Again 518 or similar is recommended so as not to block the oil strainer in the sump.

might try permatex aviation3 .sounds like it can be used metal to metal or with a gasket so suits me better

Ecp sells normfest surface seal which is an anerobic gel, use it regularly for gearbox rebuilds.

I always use DIRKO in red don't ask me why it just has never failed me so I have stuck by it
