Ancient Cebora MIG 816

I'm going to be getting a Cebora MIG 816 soon. I'm trying to find either a) a manual or b) someone who knows what all the controls do.

Steve from Weldequip says it's long obsolete, which doesn't surprise me as my father has had it for some time now.

I can see the top dial is the wire speed and the bottom I guess is the current, but I've no idea about the middle two.

Could be stitch/spot timer and wire stickout, I'd experiment with them if it was mine.

Not the clearest of pictures -- I think you're right about top and bottom, middle ones look like stitch settings (so you can ork the torch along a seam and the wire will feed for a while and then stop -- you keep the torch moving -- then feed again). Chances are you'll never need that, so set it to continuous.

Don't be afraid to play -- it won't bite (hard).

I know the pic isn't good - the thing is covered in a layer of grime (been sat under the bench grinder next to the ramp they do the brakes and exhausts on) and I was using my phone cam with poor light.

As for playing with the settings I have that on the list of things to do just below getting it home and connecting it up, just above accidentaly burn holes in test scrap lol.

I'd recommend the first thing you do is clean the outside then take off all the covers and blow out the internals, clean the inside of covers before replacing.
If it is full of metal dust from grinder you might kill it by plugging in before cleaning.
Change the liner and run the wire off 'til you see nice shiny bit.
