Hi all! i wish I'd found tis website some time ago, I've got a TVR Wedge and had a corroded outrigger. As I couldn't find a mobile welder to come out and fix it i decided to do it myself (LOL!). End result (a new tube sleeved over existing sound chassis sections and a plate welded to it) looked absolute cra*p but it's strong and the weld had penetrated correctly (I am in the Ultrasonic flaw detector business!).
Anyway, I thought I'd come on here and try to learn how to do it properly, also to learn a bit more about welding Alloys, using air-tools and paint spraying!

Nearly!........It's a 450i (4.5 Litre V8)
