Howdy from Hull
Currently looking into getting some welding kit for the first time (will explain in more detail later).
Had a crack at arc welding and gas welding back in my apprentice days (a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away). Instructor wasn't impressed, and guess that put me off.
Spent first 7-8 years of working life in a machine shop on lathes, milling m/c's etc, so really enjoyed the pics of the shipyard workshop. Great stuff.
Really into scrap metal art, and would like to have a go as a hobby, as I keep finding interesting bits at work in the skips (they are ok with me taking the odd bit). Liked some of the pics I've seen here thus far, but I don't
delude myself that I could make anything quite as ambitious as those.
