hello again....two posts in as many days.....i guess you dont learn if you dont ask!!!

...i have just got a cheap second hand esab eye-tech 9-13 welding mask from the dreaded ebay. clearly this is a welding mask........yet in the instructions it says that the shade cartaridge is not suitable for laser or gas welding.....??????

im not sure i understand...are my eyes going to fall out if i use it for mig?...??

If it's adjustable between 9 & 13 it'll be fine for MIG.

Gas welding as in oxy-acetylene doesn't create UV to activate the helmet, I expect laser is the same.

yeah for gas you would probably use about a 4-5
