Another newbie

Hey guys. I've been reading your forum for a couple of weeks now as I've just decided I'd like to have a serious try at welding. I've read pretty much all I can find on the subject so figured I should join and start asking questions!

At the moment I have an old Clarke, bottom of the range stick welder. I'd like to upgrade to a mig but don't have a lot to spend so am looking at used. Trouble is I have no idea what I'm looking at!

Anyway, I'm off to ask questions and look at the for sale section. I hope to get to know you all better soon and you never know, one day I may be able to add something useful!

Welcome njc110381. Think you need to give the guys (and girls) on here some ideal of what you will be welding with your planed mig purchase such that you can be guided as to size/type ect. Also a budget would help. and again welcome

Thanks for the welcome Mike. I've put another post in the relevant section with some more details of what I'm after. I didn't want to jump straight in with loads of questions in case it caused offence. I'm a member of various forums and some of them don't like newbies coming in with all their wants and needs in the first ever post - everywhere you go has a different outlook on that so I played on the safe side to be polite. My name's Neil by the way, I forgot to mention that earlier.
