Another "what's the name"

I've bought a mini regulator for my recent Lidl HVLP spray gun. Unfortunately it's quite heavy so with the pair of M & F quick release fitting it's making a hefty additional amount to be swung around.
Plan now is to have a length of hose attached to the gun, say 2m, then the regulator with a simple cage around it to protect from damage before a male PCL connector.
However I'd like a way of easily removing the hose from the spray gun and am after some of the screw type "not so quick" release connectors. I've had them on thing before when bought new and promptly chucked them away ! Basically a threaded collar with a split part way down the side so you can undo and then remove the hose.

Anyone know their name ?

Sorry not those.
They tend to be on cheap (Chinese ?) compressors.

I know the ones you mean, they get taken off and left in a drawer as you can never get the other half to them. They come on cheap air tools and the stupid coiled plastic air lines that are impossible to use. They are not made of very good metal either usually, like zinc or something.

That's the one I referred to. I bet I have one in a drawer somewhere. I always fit PCL in place of them.

ive probably got one or two kicking about somewhere aswell I even had the orange coiled airline slung in a box will have to dig about

yeah horrible hard things
