Any idea what this old switch is?

Came off the Rapidor, and doesn't seem to work.

Is it an NVR?

The switch depresses the spring loaded contact at the top. I thought what might happen is a relay would energise and pull the contacts down, then they would stay down as long as power was applied, but that's not what happens. In fact... nothing happens at all.

Actually - now that I think about it, there's only one switch whereas contactors / NVRs have a start and a stop switch.

So I dunno what it is! I've taken it off anyways...

Where was it sited on the saw? That might give a clue as to it’s intended purpose...

It looks like an antique limit switch,

It's the Nurse call button.

its just a 3 pin socket operated by the push button. the feed live goes to the top right hand side post the neutral direct to the bottom terminal and the earth to the left of plug. whatever u want to operate plugs in

as paul said its a limit switch it .could operate by u pushing the switch to start the cut and if there is a bit of bar that comes down when cutting finishes turn it off . not the same but similar this operates a contactor i made this one myself for the saw

I don't know if it is a limit switch or, if it is, it was in a funny place! It was on the front leg, under the overhang of the bed, and the motor was wired into it (but no other cables).
I wonder whether the previous owner was just using it as an over-complicated junction box

if its just a push on push off switch he was using it to operate it manual it wouldn't be needed for anything else as you have the clutch to disengage the saw when its still running . mine was knacked so I changed the pulley and set up . with yours just wire it up through a 20- amp double pole metal on and off switch and get the clutch working

stick it on ebay vintage barn find switch some mug will buy it tell em it came from fred dibnah and give em a scrap paper certificate

possibly its not an original part of the saw some old gadgy has probably just cobbled it on its only a 5amp one
