I just won this
It's basically a fridge motor, You have to use special oil and they probably use quite a lot of it.
Have a look at Machine Mart's "Shhhh" range for comparison.
Is that an Auto drain fitted to an internal dip tube with a adjustable timer? One thing there is no drain for the tank weird why?

With the pipe going to the plastic box.

My friend, carpet and flooring fitter has one. Uses it for nailing gripper, door bars and laminate flooring down
Good bit kit.
Need to keep any eye on oil level. rtbcomp is your man to ask, does not appear to be much he hasn't done with this type of compressor. Are these pretty much maintanance free then
Download the Clarke manual, that will give the oil spec.
The reason they use a lot of oil is that the inlet to the pump is inside the housing, which itself gets full of oil mist because the motor shaft acts like a lawn sprinkler and sends the oil through the housing so it runs down the sides and along the top for cooling. That said, a more sensible design would suck air from the outside, maybe the better ones do?
The other thing is don't let them get too hot.
I tried a few tools on it and it was just fine bargin at £51 I reakon, I will be for use at houses for small tools like a nail gun ect
