Has anyone welded an exhaust they look like stainless but i think they are part aluminised cheers ocean

Will depend very much on the exhaust. Some are stainless, some are aluminised, a few have a zinc coating.
A magnet will rule out better grades of stainless.
Generally, with a good clean up, they'll weld OK.
If you clean it up well, put a bit of water on it and it rusts overnight, stainless it isn't.

Yes, far too many! Used to be an exhaust fitter many moons ago and the rubbish we'd get asked to repair used to drive us mad.
Welding up new ones is ok once you've cleaned the aluminised coating off.

Re Any one welded a exhaust
I used to work for midas exhausts years ago but they were steel. aluminised came years later on. ive gas welded them in the past but it dont flow nice. our david has got to arc one back togeather tomorrow thoutht id ask thanks
