Anyone clued-up on paint cross-references?

I had a bit of a bump in my TVR a few years back and when I came to respray the repairs I'd effected, I paid a call to a local guy who specialised in motorcycle paintwork. He had lots of colour 'chips' from which I established a match and bought some paint, which was as near perfect as makes no odds.
Sadly he's gone out of business and when I try Googling the paint code, I get no results.
I thought it was Standox paint that he used on the bikes but that may not have been what he supplied here, so what I'm hoping is that someone can recognise the 'format' of the code and tell me who made it, then I may stand a chance of getting some more paint.
The code is B-7-1502-2 and it's a Lancia silver. Hell'sfrauds of course don't stock paint for a car of which only about a thousand were sold in the UK (Lancia Y10)...

I'm assuming 1502 is the colour code.

Don't go to somewhere like halfords as they are not very helpful, my advice is to go to a proper auto paint factors that will be able to match it no problem.

yeah ask at a decent bodyshop or paint factors

halfords are as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike

That link I posted was just to show the paint code vs colour, btw, (it was just the first link from a search for the paint code). As the others said, local auto paint factors should mix up what you want.

Cheers Matt, it does show as a silvery-grey and states at the bottom that metallics are not included, so there's obviously some sort of system involved

I wouldn't normally go there for anything much but I did have a look on the off-chance that they stocked an aerosol in the Lancia colour. Which of course they don't...

When the painter and I waved the colour chips at the car, there were two shades (both used by Lancia) that were so close it was difficult to call so I made my best guess and it seems to have been the right one.

The difference seemed to be in the ratio of black to gold metal flakes

My motorbike has a glovebox and electric windows, no ashtray though...

the 2 on the end of the code likley means darker /lighter or some variant

an understanding paint shop will be able to make the same formula , where a ready made can would be standard shade

try and get it done in standox again if you was happy as while it matched with standox brand x/y/z may not be so good
